AGRICULTURE AND OLD LACE
Whilst agriculture was for many centuries the main employment for men in the village, lace making – as throughout the county – provided a home based income for women. Even at the age of 101 Mrs. Harris continued this occupation, and many examples of her work were displayed locally. She died aged 106.
